Adams is located among the tall mountains of the Grand Cordillera Central that reaches the sea of the Babuyan Channel .
The best way to get Adams is to trek. The trail to this town in the northernmost tip of Ilocos Norte crosses streams and rivers. Crossings are made through suspension bridges, the longest one spanning an amazing 50 or so meters.
Adams rolling terrain is covered by dense lowland and mountain rainforests teeming with wildlife. It is not surprising to chance upon deer, monkeys, wild fowl and hornbills while trekking around the municipality. Plant lovers will be delighted by towering trees hung with lianas and vines that play host to various ferns, pitcher plants, mosses and orchids.
One of the municipality's little-known treasures is the Bulu river. The small river originates in Adams , makes its way through the town proper, and gathers volume on its way out to Pagudpud . The river's clear, cool water makes for wonderful swimming and white-water kayaking. The river's 20-kilometer length has a grade 3+ that reaches to grade 4+.
Given its altitude and clean air, Adams is ideal for stargazing.
