Solsona is a triangular-shaped municipality occupying the easternmost region of Ilocos Norte and borders the plateaus leading up to the towering Cordillera mountains. Tucked inland, Solsona does not have access to the sea. There is, therefore, no beach combing and sea kayaking to be had here. There is, however, still a lot of swimming that can be done.

Visit or stay in the resorts along the banks of the Garasgas and Mandanga Rivers . These resorts offer activities from swimming and picnicking to rock climbing and riding the old f ash ioned cable car ( galong-galong ), which was built as an alternative means of transportation during the rainy season when the river swells.

Visitors can also hunt wildlife in the forested terrain surrounding the municipality.

Venison made from wild boar met can be bought at the market. Meats are sold fresh and salted. One might even chance upon delightful native cheese at the market made from cow and water buffalo milk.
