Infrastructure Development.

Foremost of the infrastructure projects since 1980 is the construction of the national highway beginning from Burgos, passing through the Baruyen zigzag road and ending in Barangay Lanao. This is the Burgos-Bangui sector of the Laoag-Allacapan Road improvement of project. The concrete road which passes through Bangui is considered a very challenging engineering achievement in the country considering the rugged terrain of the Baruyen Zigzag Road.

To solve the problem of classroom shortage because of the rapid growth of the population, schools building for the various schools were constructed.  Bridges and all barangay roads, especially those leading to the market from the barangays, are properly maintained, because of the regular release of funds for their maintenance.

Economic Development.

The development of Agriculture is the priority of the local administration, because farming and fishing are the basic industries and source of livelihood of the people. Agricultural lands, including the idle ones, are developed to accelerate food production, with the assistance of the Department of Agriculture which has introduced to the people different modern farming ands fishing techniques. Demonstration farms were also established in pilot areas to enable farmers to observe the effects of fertilizer and insecticides on high yielding seeds.

An area of grasslands on the hills and mountains considered ideal for pasture was set aside for cattle breeding. Income-generating projects like mat weaving, embroidery; and poultry, swine, goat and duck raising have helped the people augment their income.
